According to Wikipedia link bait is content or feature within a website somehow baits viewers to place a links to it from other websites. Matt Cutts says link bait is interesting enough to catch people’s attention. Link bait is extremely powerful form of marketing. The quality of inbound links is used for search engines ranking to rank a website. Link Bait falls under the task of link building, to increase the quantity of high quality, relevant links to a website. The successful linkbaiting is devising a mini PR campaign for the release of link bait article so that bloggers and social media users are made aware.
I read some blogs about link baiting some are negative and some are positive and said link bait is interesting and is part of link building strategy. As of now I don’t have more idea about link baiting whether it is good thing or not. On my own experience about link bait it is good and effective for Bloggers for their quality of content that can attract more readers and get a high ranking for search engines.
